NYC brightest star in photo of cities along I-95 from International Space Station

New York City is outta this world — especially when it’s seen from the International Space Station 240 miles above Earth.

In this dazzling photo taken Feb. 6, the star-like orange-yellow bursts are actually large cities along Interstate 95 on the East Coast.

On the extreme right of the photo is Long Island jutting out. To its west is New York City, the brightest metropolis of all — which seems fitting for the city that never sleeps.

It’s followed by Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, Va., and Virginia Beach.
