Back to life

Josh Duhamel is blowing up the big screen in “Transformers 3,” but he’ll be returning to his soap-star roots next month.

Beginning Aug. 4, the Hollywood hottie will reprise the “All My Children” role that put him on the map — handsome con artist Leo du Pres.

Duhamel is due to appear in more than one episode, according to an “AMC” spokesperson.

He was written off the soap in 2003, when his character allegedly died after plunging into the Miller’s Falls waterfall in an attempt to save ex Greenlee Smythe’s (Rebecca Budig) life. Leo’s body was never found, leaving the door wide open for Duhamel to come back.

During his stint on “AMC” — from 1999 to 2002 — Duhamel was nominated for four Daytime Emmys. He won Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002.

Carol Burnett is another big star making one last trip back to Pine Valley. She’s returning in September to play Verla Grubbs again.

“AMC” wraps its four decade-long run with its Sept. 23 series finale episode.
