NYPD looking into video showing people jumping on squad car

Cops are investigating a video that shows revelers kicking and jumping on an NYPD squad car in what may be a celebration gone wild after the West Indian Day parade, police said.

Though law enforcement sources said there is a possibility the mayhem occurred during Monday’s parade in Brooklyn, officials could not confirm the time or place that the video showing a horde of young men wrecking the patrol car was shot.

The 15-second clip ends in a cloud of smoke and some partiers sitting on the top of the car.

Police sources said that the patrol car may have been trying to avoid a more violent situation.

“Sometimes situations can only get worse and you have to make a judgement as to whether direct action at that point can escalation it to a more dangerous situation,” one source said.
