Bankrupt Revel tells customers to cash in their chips now

Atlantic City’s bankrupt Revel is telling gamblers to cash in their chips before it cashes in its chips.

The failed luxury casino and resort has sent a message to registered customers letting them know it will officially close its doors at 5 a.m. on Sept. 2.

Revel said customers can cash in their chips, free slot play, resort dollars, slot vouchers and gift cards at the casino prior to that date.

They have until Sept. 15 to redeem them at the resort’s general cashier office, which is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

After that, their only option will be filing a proof of claim in New Jersey bankruptcy court, the company said.

Revel announced earlier this month that it would close by Sept. 10 after no bidders came forward in an auction.
