12-day ‘Simpsons’ marathon brings in record ratings for FXX

Homer is a ratings hit.

FXX’s record 12-day marathon of “The Simpsons” — featuring every episode from the ’toon’s 25 seasons — gave the cable network its best ratings ever.

The animated comedy pulled in an average of 1.3 million viewers between 8 and 11 p.m. — more than a 500 percent improvement over FXX’s primetime average. It averaged 955,000 throughout the day.

Nearly 25 million people tuned in for at least part of the 552-episode “Simpsons” marathon, which wrapped Sept. 1 and had its best ratings on Labor Day, when 1.4 million viewers in the under-50 demo alone watched the 7 p.m. episode.

“The Simpsons” will continue to air five nights a week — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday — on FXX.
