Three goons surrounded and pummeled an off-duty cop on a Hell’s Kitchen street early Saturday, sources said.
The 42-year-old man was walking on West 49th Street near Ninth Avenue at 12:20 a.m., when a man jumped in front of him and assumed a threatening stance, authorities said.
The victim tried to walk by the thug, but two accomplices quickly converged on him, police said.
The three punched the cop in the head several times before running off.
He was treated at Roosevelt Hospital for a laceration on his head.
It was unclear if the attackers knew the victim, or what motivated the assault.
