Yes, the motherless and fatherless but uber-privileged toddlers of “Downton Abbey” seem to be coming along beautifully.
New photos courtesy of the “Downton Abbey” Instagram account show both a plumply beaming George Crawley, son of Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) and her cruelly, all-too-soon deceased husband, Matthew (Dan Stevens); and his first cousin, Sybbie Branson, daughter of the late Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) — the kindest, most egalitarian of the sisters — and her Irish firebrand spouse, ex-chauffeur Tom Branson (Allen Leech).
Those who saw Season 4 may recall how poor Sybbie was being treated horribly by a snobbish nanny, who got the heave-ho from Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) when she dropped into the nursery unannounced.
The fifth season of “Downton Abbey” will premiere on PBS in early January.
