Taxi company to pay more than $1.6M for ripping off cabbies

A taxi company whose owner previously ran into trouble for turning junked cars into cabs in Chicago will pay more than $1.6 million to settle charges it ripped off nearly 2,000 New York City hacks by charging them bogus “late fees,” The Post has learned.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and TLC Commissioner Meera Joshi are expected to announced the deal with Yellow Cab SLS Jet Management Corp. on Tuesday.

“Our agreement will put money back in [drivers’] pockets and prevent this company from cheating drivers out of their hard-earned wages,” the AG said.
