Rockland exec sold equipment to board he previously sat on

Rockland County Executive Ed Day sold security equipment to a county trash agency on whose board he served — a potential conflict of interest that may have violated state law.

Day, a former NYPD honcho, was a county legislator and member of the Rockland Solid Waste Management Authority before taking office as county executive.

Day also worked as a consultant to American Security Systems in Queens, which sold $3,750 worth of security cameras to the authority last year, and a Dec. 26, 2013, invoice obtained by The Post lists Day as salesman.

Day told The Post that he had received an opinion from the authority’s outside counsel allowing him to sell the equipment.
