Teen escapes death after getting hit by subway train

A teen narrowly escaped death when she jumped onto subway tracks at a Brooklyn station to retrieve something she dropped and was struck by a train — she survived with only minor injuries, cops said.

The girl, believed to be 15 or 16, was standing on the platform of the East 105th Street L-train station near Turnbull Avenue in Canarsie at about 9:45 p.m., Monday, when she dropped an unknown item, according to police.

She jumped in after her belongings, just as a train came rolling into the station.

The unidentified teen was hit by the train but it was not immediately know if the train rolled over her, or if the girl was off to the side and was clipped by the train.

She was rushed to Kings County Hospital where she was being treated for the non-life threatening injuries, cops said.
