LOS ANGELES — A person close to the case says Steve Ballmer has met with Donald Sterling, who is resisting selling the Los Angeles Clippers to the former Microsoft CEO for $2 billion.
The person spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
The person says the meeting Monday afternoon lasted 90 minutes at Donald Sterling’s Beverly Hills home and was held at his request. Sterling’s attorneys, an attorney for his estranged wife Shelly Sterling and Ballmer’s attorney were also present.
The person says niceties were exchanged but no agreement was reached.
The meeting came as the parties prepared to return to a trial over whether Shelly Sterling has sole authority to sell the team.
