Sherri Shepherd & Jenny McCarthy leave ‘The View’

“The View” will have a new look come this fall. The post-Barbara Walters “View” will be without Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy.

TMZ first reported that the co-hosts would not be returning to the show, and shortly after the report, Jenny confirmed her departure on Twitter.

An ABC rep told The Post, “‘The View’ will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively.”

That “exciting new direction” includes keeping executive producer Bill Geddie running the daytime talk show. A high-level insider told The Post that Geddie is not going anywhere.

Sherri Shepherd released a statement saying, “It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie for giving me the opportunity… and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

A source tells The Post that producers wanted to keep Shepherd on the show and had been in serious contract negotiations. The two sides could not come to an agreement, which led to Shepherd’s exit.

No word on who will be replacing the hosts, but the network says they will have a team together when the show launches its new season this fall.
