A Queens dad told cops he strangled his 8-year-old son before slitting his wrists in a failed suicide bid because he was depressed that his wife left him, sources said Monday.

Boujeke Kenmoe, 41, was charged with murder for the death of little Jerry, whose body was found around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

“In addition to confessing to the crime, he expressed that his wife had recently left him, and he was upset,” a law-enforcement source reported.

“Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Not them!” neighbor James Lana, 75, said upon hearing the news. “I never would have guessed it was him. That guy seems so normal!”

Lana said he would see the seemingly affectionate father walking Jerry to school each morning as the boy clung tightly to his little red backpack.

Kyle Bahrey, 9, a friend of Jerry’s, said the third-grader attended PS 107 and “was good at reading, better than anyone else in the class.”

Bahrey added: “We liked to play tag. We played cops and robbers the other day.”

Kenmoe, an African immigrant, was still at Queens General Hospital on Monday and had not been arraigned.
