Badass woman uses app to hunt thief, corners him until cops arrive

She’s a real-life Wonder Woman!

A gutsy Bronx gal used some superhero moves to track down and collar a man who snatched her wallet and used her credit cards for a shopping spree, cops said Thursday.

Kirsy Polanco, 25, chased Corey White into the busy Union Square subway station and held him for cops — pursuing him even after he allegedly elbowed her in the face.

About the only thing Polanco didn’t do was wrap a golden lasso around him.

Polanco had left her wallet on a condiments counter at a Wendy’s restaurant in Greenwich Village at about 3:50 p.m. on July 17 after buying lunch there.

As she tucked into her meal, Polanco realized she had misplaced her gray Marc Jacobs wallet, which sells for as much as $200.

Before she could retrieve it, White allegedly snatched the wallet and sneaked away, taking $93 in cash and her bank card.

The 35-year-old White celebrated his score by heading straight to a nearby liquor store and buying $46 worth of booze, cops said.

He next headed to a Journeys clothing store on East 14th Street, near University Place, where he used her bank card to buy a $109 pair of shoes, cops said.

The quick-thinking Polanco, however, was hot on White’s trail after using a banking app on her smartphone to spot where purchases had been made with her bank card, cops said.

After seeing the shoe purchase, Polanco ran to the Journeys and spotted White in front of the store — allegedly holding the ill-gotten liquor and footwear.

In a panic, he allegedly threw the wallet at Polanco and fled.

She chased after him.

Shouting for police, she followed him into the Union Square station, where White tried to board an R train. As Polanco reached him, he wheeled around and elbowed her in the face, police said.

That didn’t stop her. She grabbed hold of White and kept him from escaping on a train until cops arrived.

White was charged with robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, cops said.

Police allegedly found her MetroCard and $93 dollars in cash on him when they patted him down.

Cops said they also retrieved surveillance video from the Journeys showing White making a purchase.
