If you missed this season’s “Real Housewives of New York City,” just know these bickering socialites are still insane and will stop at nothing to prove a point.
Enter the leg toss. Or gam slam. Or flying limbo. A million puns and witty innuendos could be used to describe the climax of Tuesday night’s Season 6 finale, where a leg-endary smackdown courtesy of Aviva Drescher occurred at Sonja Morgan’s self-hosted #TeamSonja party at trendy eatery Le Cirque.
After going through a tough patch in her relationship, Morgan deems it time to thank all of her supporters: her interns, psychic, dentist and a whole host of random people.
Drescher, the cast’s supreme nemesis, attended the thank-you bash — discreetly armed and ready to fight against any insults that may come her way. After Sonja gives a long, drawn-out speech, the ladies convene to discuss their issues with Aviva.
Ramona Singer brings up Aviva’s decision to skip out on their Montana trip, and how she’s basically been missing in action the whole time, due to her so-called illnesses. An ambush ensues with Aviva semi-apologizing for not being around. But Aviva has more than a few tricks up her sleeve — or leg, to put it literally.
View videoAviva appears to be so fed up and frustrated with the ripping section that, out of nowhere, she pulls out a handful of X-rays from her doctor and tosses them in the air. “Was this forged by the doctors?” she asks.
Stunned that she would go so far, everyone else at the table breaks out in laughter. Meanwhile, Sonja takes a closer look at the X-rays to determine if Aviva had a boob job.
The criticism gets to be too much, and the next thing that happens is the classiest thing any “Real Housewives” franchise has ever seen.
“The only thing that is artificial or fake about me is this!” Aviva yells, slamming her prosthetic leg down on the table so hard that it appears the table might collapse. That was entertaining, but perhaps the most humorous part was hearing the other women cattily exclaim they knew the leg-toss was coming.
Elsewhere, LuAnn de Lesseps plays coy about her outing with Harry Dubin. Kristen canvasses for a shot modeling in her husband’s ad campaign for a new product called E-boost. Carole shows off her new digs to Heather — and celebrates her new book, despite Aviva claiming she hired a ghostwriter.
