Real estate millionaire spending wealth to become a judge

He has already made hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate — now he wants to do something more “honor”-able.

Andrew Borrok — an eccentric Hamptons socialite straight out of “The Great Gatsby” — is set to be elected as a Brooklyn judge.

He has so much cash on hand that he has already scared off the field of all other candidates.

“Essentially, this guy is buying a judgeship,” sniffed one Brooklyn Democratic source. “Everybody is afraid to run against him because he has unlimited resources.”

If he wins the Eighth District race, Borrok, 43, will rule on cases below $25,000.

The uber-Realtor started off by quickly locking up the support of Brooklyn’s district-court and labor leaders.

The Democrat personally lent his campaign $250,000 but has only had to spend $5,200 so far on his unopposed bid.

At least 16 local elected officials have thrown their support behind Borrok, including politicians whose campaigns he has tossed cash at, such as ex-City Councilman and congressional candidate Domenic Recchia and Councilmen Mark Treyger and Alan Maisel.

The dilettante sees the judge gig as a stepping stone to Brooklyn Supreme Court.

“They don’t want rookies on the Supreme Court bench,” rep Andrew Fisher told The Post. “He’s hoping that he’ll be a good judge.”

Borrok declined an interview with The Post through Fisher, who said his boss is relaxing with his family at his estate in Hawaii’s super-rich enclave of Kukio.

Borrok hired a publicist in 2007 to land in the spotlight overnight in his quest to be a top chef.

Despite never having worked in a kitchen, Borrok planned to open a world-class restaurant in Soho.

He even purchased a cryogenic freezer to store fish flown in from Japan to impress celebrities such as Mischa Barton, who attended his lavish Hamptons bashes.

Borrok never opened a restaurant.
