Bon Jovi, Trump may have violated non-disclosure agreement with Bills

Jon Bon Jovi and Donald Trump may have hurt their chances of scoring with the Buffalo Bills.

The rocker and the real-estate mogul appear to have violated a strict non-disclosure agreement they both signed by making it known publicly that they are pursuing bids for the team, according to the Buffalo News.

In a bid to gin up support for his bid, Bon Jovi broke his silence on Sunday with an open letter declaring his group’s intent to keep the team in western New York.

Three $1 billion-plus bids have been submitted for the Bills, including Bon Jovi’s group, Trump and Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula, sources said. Thomas Golisano is also interested in the NFL team.

At least 60 parties requested the non-disclosure agreement as a condition of getting a look at the team’s finances, but only around 15 ended up signing what the Buffalo News described as a particularly “restrictive and onerous” document.

The agreement doesn’t say what, if any, penalties there are for violating the terms, according to the paper.

It’s unlikely Bon Jovi and Trump would be eliminated from the sales process because there was no financial harm done to the team, although it could “alienate” them from the Bills and the NFL, the paper added.
