Maître d’ Marty Markowitz hits Brooklyn

Marty Markowitz is taking being a public servant to another level.

The former longtime Brooklyn Borough President will be serving customers Friday night as guest maître d’ at famed Northern Italian eatery Noodle Pudding in Brooklyn Heights.

As NYC & Company’s new vice president responsible for promoting outer-borough tourism and economic activity for the city, Markowitz says he’ll be greeting diners and encouraging them to visit nearby attractions like Brooklyn Bridge Park.

He will also be answering questions about other tourist attractions citywide.

“I’ll be greeting and sitting customers and pouring them wine,” Markowitz told The Post on Thursday. “I’ll also be promoting ‘staycations’ because there’s so much for New Yorkers to do in this city.”

The ex-Beep’s 5 pm to 10 pm shift at Noodle Pudding will be short-lived, but he said he plans to soon make other maître d’ appearances in restaurants in The Bronx, Queens and Staten Island as part of the city’s efforts encourage tourism to its boroughs beyond Manhattan.
