5 questions going into ‘Teen Wolf’ Season 4

From battling alpha lycans to warding off sinister spirits, the unstoppable gang from “Teen Wolf” is back and hungry for more. Returning to MTV Monday night, the fourth season of the supernatural hit is poised to be the most intense yet.

With old foes returning and new romances blooming, it seems that Scott (Tyler Posey), Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and company will have plenty on their plate during the show’s summer run.

And after last season’s jaw-dropping (and tearjerking) finale, viewers truly have no idea of where the series will head next.

With that, we pose five critical questions leading up to Monday night’s season premiere.

What is Kate Argent?

Audiences met the devilish Kate Argent (Jill Wagner) back in Season One. Though it was believed that she had met her maker, courtesy of the smokin’ hot werewolf Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), the huntress returned in the Season 3 finale, but not in human form.

When speaking to TV Line back in March, series creator Jeff Davis confirmed that Kate is “definitely a were creature,” and that “she’s going to be a foe to many people.

Uh oh!

Just how emotionally damaged will Chris Argent be?

After losing both his wife Victoria (Eaddy Mays) and daughter Allison (Crystal Reed), it’s safe to say that Argent family patriarch, Chris (J.R. Bourne), will be out of sorts.

“[He’s] extremely messed up,” Bourne disclosed to the Huffington Post. And with no time to mourn (thanks to the return of his cat-like sister), Argent is “confused about where to direct his anger, his vengeance and what to do with it.”

Will Kira be Scott’s new lady love?

It’s no secret that Allison was Scott’s first love, and no one ever forgets their first real romance. But the team behind “Teen Wolf” is hopeful that the leader of the pack will open his heart again, particularly to Kira (Arden Cho).

“We really like that romance,” Davis dished to E! News, “it’s going to be a little bit of ‘are they together, are they not together?’ We like the idea of a slow burn for them.”

Sounds like “Scira” will be off to a slow, but steady start.

Who (or what) is the Benefactor?

What’s a great show without an equally awesome villain?

This season, Scott’s pack is up against the mysterious Benefactor. And while little has been revealed about the new baddie, if the previews are any indication, the mouthless terror is bound to make Beacon Hills a living hell.

Will Stiles and Lydia finally become an item?

Since the show’s opening episode, Stiles has harbored a crush on the vivacious Lydia (Holland Roden). But four seasons (and a demonic possession) later, it’s still unclear whether the duo are destined for a happily ever after.

Though the two have shared a kiss in the past, it seems that Lydia will face some stiff competition from the wild Malia (Shelley Hennig, who was promoted to series regular).

Let the battle for Stiles’ heart commence!
