6 ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ alums who keep busy

NYC detective Cat Sullivan may be new but she sure looks familiar. Yep, it’s Chyler Leigh, a k a the late Dr. Lexie Grey, back with a stylish hairdo and a gun in NBC’s new procedural, “Taxi Brooklyn.”

But Leigh isn’t the only “Grey’s Anatomy” vet keeping busy. Here’s what other alums from Shonda Rhimes’ enduring medical soap are up to.

Consider it a nicotine patch for those of us going through “Grey’s” withdrawal.

McCaptain of the seas

Eric Dane — who played Leigh’s big love, Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan — is also back on the small screen, except he’s shifted from hospital horndog to rugged Navy officer as the captain of “The Last Ship,” which premiered Sunday on TNT.

Raver generation

Even after a few seasons as Dr. Teddy Altman, Kim Raver was never fully embraced by “Grey’s” fans. So she went back to playing Audrey Raines in the TV franchise that broke her, appearing in “24: Live Another Day.”

Thrown off the bench

Any hopes of Dr. Addison Montgomery returning to Shonda Rhimes’ mothership have been dashed by Kate Walsh’s busy dance card.

She was particularly good as an ex-stripper in the FX miniseries “Fargo,” and this fall she’s starring as the titular “Bad Judge” on NBC (premiering Oct. 2). Let’s hope it lasts longer than “Bad Teacher.”

Oh my

One of the original Gang of Five, Sandra Oh left “Grey’s” to return to her theater roots, starting with the harrowing “Death and the Maiden” at Chicago’s Victory Gardens.

Kate the great

Another “Grey’s” alum with a strong connection to the stage is Kate Burton, better known as Meredith’s mother, Dr. Ellis Grey.

While on break from playing demented VP Sally Langston in Shonda Rhimes’ even-bigger hit, “Scandal,” Burton will participate in a NY reading of the musical “Gigi” . . . with Vanessa Hudgens.

Heigl’s altered ‘State’

Let’s not forget the most notorious “Grey’s” alum of all — Katherine Heigl. She left the show to launch a movie career, which, as you may know, didn’t pan out.

So now she’s back on TV. NBC, which seems to like former doctors, will feature Heigl in its new series “State of Affairs,” premiering Nov. 17. Katherine Heigl as a CIA analyst?

Hey, it worked for Claire Danes . . . .
