Daily News predicted 2014 hikes for everything but itself

Six months ago, the Daily News boldly listed five consumer goods that would soar in price in 2014.

Its own crummy rag wasn’t one of them.

Snooze readers were stunned Monday when the newspaper suddenly cost $1.25 in the five boroughs, a whopping 66 percent boost from 75 cents.

In a Dec. 31, 2013, piece on goods sure to cost more in 2014, the Daily News listed: new cars, groceries, housing, luxury travel and postage.

Or, in other words, everything.

That Dec. 31 article offered suggestions on how to beat unreasonable 2014 price hikes. So here’s a tip it missed for smart New Yorkers: Buy The Post, instead!
