Idina Menzel finally feeling herself after success of ‘Frozen’

Shockingly, Idina Menzel is not yet sick of her “Frozen” smash “Let it Go.” She’s not even sick of her “Wicked” favorite, “Defying Gravity.”

“And I’m not just saying that,” she tells The Post. “I get tired of, like, warming up all the time…and [being] sorry that I can’t drink a glass of wine.”

Maybe the Broadway belter can take a breather after Monday night when she performs a solo concert at Radio City Music Hall. The accomplishment comes after a year that’s seen the diva earn her third Tony nomination (for the new musical “If/Then”) and break into the Billboard Hot 100’s top five.

“It’s affording me opportunities to do what I’ve always wanted,” she says.

The 43-year-old Queens native and mother of a 4-year-old (with ex Taye Diggs) charmed audiences on Broadway as Elphaba in 2003’s “Wicked.”

The part made Menzel a Broadway star, but not a mainstream name. That changed last November, when she starred as the voice of the snow queen Elsa in the Disney animated musical “Frozen,” complete with the blockbuster’s power ballad, “Let it Go.” The soundtrack was a runaway success, selling more than 2.8 million copies.

“You know when you’re doing a Disney animated film that you’re doing something that’s going to make an indelible impression and live forever,” she says. “You have no idea it’s going to become the phenomenon it’s become.”

Performing at the Oscars, Menzel got extra attention when John Travolta mangled her name, calling her “Adele Dazeem” and igniting a cultural meme.

“It’s definitely one of those welcome happy mistakes that changed my life,” says Menzel. Now planning a Christmas album, she says the song’s success has finally allowed her to be herself.

“Having to describe myself and label myself as another artist so someone could pigeonhole me — those days are over,” she says. “That feels really good.”
