11 new eateries to try this summer in the Hamptons

Heading out to the Hamptons this holiday weekend? Like the shoreline, the restaurant scene out East is everchanging. From new chefs to sushi pop-ups to chichi spins on fro-yo, here’s what to expect now that the season has shifted into high gear.

Bay Kitchen and Bar

Food & Co. chef/owner Eric Miller has co-opted one of the area’s prettiest locales across from Three Mile Harbor and introduced a menu full of fresh local fare, such as roasted striped bass with broccoli rabe, kale and fingerling potatoes. You can go at the end of the day, grab a watermelon-basil margarita and watch a glorious sunset.

Harlow East

The restaurant’s popular oyster and crudo bar has made its way to the spectacular new waterfront setting that used to house B. Smith’s. Tapas have also been added for those who want to get a light bite and watch the boats.

Doppio East

Capellini with cockles, leeks, chili and white wine, and black bass bouillabaisse are some of the offerings at the East End offshoot of the Mediterranean restaurant, which has a branch in the West Village.

BuddhaBerry

Lines were out the door the day this new outpost of the Montauk spot opened. The custom-blended organic frozen yogurt comes in a wide variety of flavors, including “Greek,” “Skinny Vanilla’’ and mint chip. There’s even an organic vegan coconut milkbased “yogurt.”

Moby’s

The space on the outskirts of Amagansett that housed the Laundry has been taken by Nick Hatsatouris and Lincoln Pilcher, who had Kingswood in the West Village and Moby Dick’s in Montauk. The duo is serving up wood-fired-oven specials, including pizza and fish.

Seawater Grill at Gurney’s

Jennifer LeRoy has taken over the restaurants at the famous resort and brought in ex-Georgica chef Seth Levine, known for his creative American fare.

The Back Page Market and Cafe

Page restaurant has a new food shop out back with picnic tables for al fresco dining. Open until 2 a.m., it offers a range of prepared food such as lobster rolls and fish tacos.

Westlake Fish House

Fish is brought straight from the neighboring docks and sliced for sushi or simply grilled and served up with healthy sides.

Bridgehampton Inn and Restaurant

Sybille van Kempen, daughter of Anna Pump, who owns the Hamptons’ legendary Loaves & Fishes, has opened an intimate new restaurant at the circa-1795 inn. The menu is locally focused.

Shuko

One of NYC’s top sushi teams — Neta’s Nick Kim and Jimmy Lau — are doing a Hamptons pop-up with luxe spins on raw fish and meat.

The Harbor Raw Bar & Lounge

Pierre Rougey, who earned three NY Times stars at Barrique in Babylon, brings quality food to this dockside spot, which specializes in small plates, including an Asian riff on surf-and-turf tacos.
