NBC won’t have its top play-by-play man for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Rangers and Kings.
Mike “Doc” Emrick will miss the opener in Los Angeles because of a death in the family, NBC said in a statement. Kenny Albert will call the game for NBC, and he will be replaced by Don La Greca for the Rangers’ radio call.
Emrick will be back for Game 2 of the series on Saturday night.
