Firefighter arrested after going berserk on bouncer, cops

This smoke-eater went down swinging.

A city firefighter was arrested Sunday morning after battling with a club bouncer and police on Staten Island — and then threatening hospital staff while in custody, sources said.

Richard Avecedo, 33, was first tossed out of Above, a rooftop bar at the Hilton Garden Inn in Graniteville, around 2:15 a.m., law enforcement source said.

He then argued with a security guard and attacked him, but the bouncer wasn’t seriously hurt and declined to press charges, sources said.

But by this time, cops were called. When they arrived Avecedo still refused to leave and flailed when they tried to arrest him, sources said.

Once he was cuffed, Avecedo then kicked a lieutenant in the leg, sending the cop to the hospital, sources said.

He was then transported to Richmond University Medical Center for treatment for the lumps and bumps he received in the melee, sources said.

While there, he continued shouting and threatening a cop guarding him, as well as staff, sources said.

Avecedo was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

No one was seriously injured, authorities said.
