4 dead after car swerves into oncoming traffic

Four Long Island teens were killed early Saturday when their car veered into oncoming traffic and struck an SUV, cops said.

Three other people were seriously hurt in the smashup on Conklin Street in Farmingdale just after midnight.

Three of the teenagers, two boys and a girl, died at the scene. The fourth, the young man who was driving, died at a local hospital.

A fifth teen in the car was in critical condition at Nassau University Medical Center. All of the teenagers attended Farmingdale High School.

The SUV’s driver, 53, and his female passenger, were in serious condition.

One of the fatally injured teens was identified by his heartbroken dad as Tristan Reichle.

“The family is grieving right now,” the father said.

The surviving teen was identified by friends and a relative as Cody Talanian.

“We have no idea what’s happened yet,” Talanian’s grandmother, Mary, told The Post. “He’s a good kid.”

The Rev. Michael Duffy of St. Kilian Church, which three of the young people attended, said, “We visited one of the families, we prayed with them. This is one of those days when your homily goes right out the window.

“There are no words when an event like this occurs.”
