Tough to be a Pacer: Paul George robbed during Game 5 loss

Paul George’s week keeps getting worse.

While the No. 1 seed Pacers were losing Game 5 to the Hawks — falling one game away from a stunning first-round exit — Indiana’s star player’s house was being robbed of approximately $16,000 worth of items, including a platinum All-Star ring, according to police.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the burglary at George’s house occurred between 7:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Monday. George’s parents, who attended the game, reported the theft shortly before midnight.

Among the items missing are the $15,000 ring, a watch, a pair of Air Jordan shoes and a $20 bill. (In October 2012, George faced a similar situation following a game against the Bulls, when he returned to find his car missing its rims.)

It was just that kind of night for the disintegrating Pacers. George became the first player in league history to finish a playoff game with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in a losing effort. Roy Hibbert failed to score a point or grab a rebound for the first time in his playoff career. And Lance Stephenson brutally flubbed this dunk:
