Woman falls into elevator shaft at Fenway Park

A 22-year-old woman fell down an elevator shaft at Fenway Park Friday night.

Firefighters say they responded to the elevator at Gate B at about 11:15 p.m. after the Red Sox-Tigers game, WBZ-TV reported.

According to the Boston Fire Department, the doors on the fourth floor somehow opened and the woman fell into the shaft and landed on the roof of the elevator. The woman was found on top of the elevator at the second floor.

Firefighters and Boston EMS rescued the woman from inside the elevator and transported her to the hospital.

The victim’s condition is not known.

The state elevator inspector and Boston Police are investigating.
