Zoe and Selena stun, while Karlie suffers from a fashion fail

Like The Post itself, the best dressed stars this week were black and white and red all over. Meanwhile, the worst ruined their looks by taking things just a tad too far. Scroll to see what we mean.

The hits:

Cate Blanchett

Blanchett attended the Duke of Cambridge’s Royal Marsden Dinner wearing an elegant ivory column by Ralph Lauren Collection.

The evening was hosted at Windsor Castle, and, fittingly, the actress — who won a Golden Globe in 1998 for playing British monarch Elizabeth I — looked every bit a queen. Bow.

Marisa Tomei

At the New York premiere of “The Normal Heart,” Tomei was 50 shades of chic in a head-to-toe look by Tod’s. The ensemble was casual and sophisticated, yet entirely fashion-forward.

It’s nice to see a woman confident enough to eschew tight, sparkling dresses for pared-down luxury and comfort. Again, bow.

Natalia Vodianova

The supermodel threw a charity dinner at the Grand Palais in Paris to celebrate the opening of Monumenta 2014 and to support the Naked Heart Foundation, which naturally called for red.

This tailored Dior ensemble is a solid lesson in how to pull off monochrome. If that’s not enough, consider this: Vodianova gave birth to her fourth child less than two weeks ago.

Selena Gomez

For the American Ballet Theatre Opening Night Spring Gala, the singer went Parisian-polished in a strapless Lanvin accented with bows.

Of the entire scantily dressed Disney alumnae network, Gomez definitely cleans up the nicest.

Zoe Saldana

At the Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony, the C-list actress worked her A-list fashion cred in a romantic Victoria Beckham gown that blew everyone else out of the Mediterranean water.

The misses:

Elena Lenina

Not everyone aces glamour at Cannes. Just take Lenina, who looks like a mash-up of Lady Gaga, Barbie and a cream puff. The Russian TV star is virtually unknown stateside. Given these antics, we’re glad.

Evan Rachel Wood

We get it, Evan, tomboy is your thing and props to that, but here you’ve gone overboard. The punk rock-ish blazer, skinny tie and leather pants may have seemed like a rebellious choice, but you’re simply giving us Pete Wentz.

And did someone dip your hair in ink? You were better off with the pixie.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss plus Valentino should have yielded splendid results. Sadly, it spelled Victoriana horror.

At Cannes, the model pulled a Scarlett O’Hara and made a dress of curtains, but rather than a pretty antebellum abode, she decided on the Bates Motel.

Lindsay Lohan

It almost seems cruel to criticize LiLo, who’s clearly never in a rational state of mind. But this dated hipster look is so troubling that it should be addressed to prevent other people from thinking it’s still OK to pair leggings with a tank and top them with a fedora.

Rumer Willis

Truth be told, the individual elements of this aren’t terrible, but when you match pink hair with an embroidered fringed dress and mismatched shoes, it starts to look a little sideshow act, like Willis should be breathing fire or shooting pistols or secretly be a man . . . .
