Martin St. Louis thanks ‘unbelievable’ teammates in emotional postgame speech

The Rangers gave an inside look at the atmosphere around the team following their 3-1 Game 6 win over the Penguins.

Martin St. Louis thanked his teammates for the support they’ve given him over the past few days, since the unexpected death of his mother on Thursday night.

“Everybody pushed tonight, I can’t give it to one guy, I have to give it to the whole team,” St. Louis said while holding the hat that the team MVP wears after every game.

“You guys have been nothing but unbelievable to me these past couple of days and I’ll never forget that. This is a team win. I couldn’t be prouder to be a f—— New York Ranger with you guys.”

St. Louis, who scored the opening goal in the victory that forced a Game 7, got an ovation from his teammates.

The video ends with backup goalie Cam Talbot adding a magnet to the Rangers’ Stanley Cup poster for the seventh of the 16 wins they need to capture the trophy.
