Darth Vader’s lack of pitching skills is disturbing

The force is weak with this one.

Darth Vader’s first pitch in 2012 was no better than his 2014 attempt.

Darth Vader, the iconic Sith Lord from the Star Wars film franchise, threw out the first pitch in Cincinnati before Friday’s Brewers-Reds game, but his fastball wasn’t quite as good as his lightsaber skills.

The pitch made it a little over halfway to plate before bouncing into the grass and off to the left-handed batter’s box where the Reds’ mascot corralled the ball.

It’s not the first time Lord Vader has completely missed the strike zone before an MLB game. Vader echoed another movie character – Major League’s “Wild Thing” Rick Vaughn – in 2012 before a Tampa Bay Rays game with a fastball to the backstop.

Star Wars will be returning to the big screen at the end of 2015 with Episode VII.
