Pill-addicted mom in rehab, fights for custody of kids

The pill-addicted Manhattan woman whose banker ex used her post-divorce abortion to gain custody of their kids, is in rehab and appealing the judge’s decision to become a full-time mom again.

But attorneys for Lisa Mehos, 38, told Justice Lori Sattler, who issued the decision in March sending her son and daughter to live in Texas with their bank CEO father Manuel Mehos, 59, said their client needs money before she can appeal.

Lisa’s lawyer, Thomas Shanahan, said his client has “exhausted” a $1.2 million divorce payout she got from her former hubby in 2011.

“Employment opportunities for her at this time are really, really limited if realistic at all,” Shanahan told the judge, adding that she’s enrolled at the ritzy outpatient facility Hazeldon.
She travels to Houston to visit her children on the weekends.

Shanahan said his client been clean for over two years.

Sattler named Manuel, founder of Green Bank, the primary caretaker of the couple’s 4 and 6-year-olds after finding that Lisa had lied about popping Xanax, Klonopin, Valium and Ativan while neglecting her kids.

Manuel’s attorney, Eleanor Alter, used medical records about Lisa’s abortion, which she had six-months after her divorce, to try and prove that she was dishonest about not having men in her apartment with the children present.

Lisa testified that she had a one-night stand with a friend.

She’s also asking for $150,000 in legal fees and $20,000 for printing costs associated with the appeal.

The judge reserved decision.
