The knives have been out for Gwyneth Paltrow recently, but in the new Coldplay video, they’re also flying in Chris Martin’s direction.
The singer plays a love-struck magician’s assistant in the silent-movie-influenced video for the band’s new single “Magic” (taken from the forthcoming album “Ghost Stories,” out May 19). He manages to impress the object of his desire — played by “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” star Zhang Ziyi — through learning the art of levitation.
In light of Chris and Gwyneth’s “Conscious Uncoupling” last month, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him using this technique to woo the ladies for real in upcoming months. It’s certainly a lot more effective than saying you used to be married to the founder of GOOP.com.
