Cabby guilty in 2011 rape of passenger

A taxi driver was convicted yesterday of the knifepoint rape of a woman who had flagged him down to take her from Williamsburg to her East Village apartment and fell asleep in his yellow cab.

The victim woke up to a nightmare.

“I was blindfolded. He put something in my mouth to gag it,’’ the woman told a rapt jury in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Gurmeet Singh was found guilty of rape and kidnapping in the vicious May 2011 attack and faces up to 25 years prison.

A female juror in her 60s who asked not to be identified called the crime “terrifying.’’

“I heard things in the jury room that really shocked me,’’ she said.

Clever cops busted Singh, 43, who lives in Jamaica, Queens, after collecting DNA from a water glass he used during a meeting with officers posing as taxi inspectors.
