North Korea’s supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, appears to have been a chubby, happy child, judging by rare childhood photos released by the North Korean government at a concert in honor of the country’s air force.
It’s not clear how old Kim was in the photos — he looks about five or six — but it’s certain that as the third son, he probably had no idea at the time that he would grow up to command one of the world’s largest military and hang out with Dennis Rodman.
His hairstyle also looked a bit different than today’s long-on-top, short-on-the-sides look that a London hair salon has poked fun at.
North Korea provided a YouTube clip/slideshow of Kim and his chic wife Ri Sol-ju at the concert that not only featured attractive entertainers but a MiG parked on the stage.
