The would-be robber fled empty-handed, first west on Delancey Street, then north on Norfolk Street.

The crook swiped the phone when a customer at the fast-food restaurant set it down, along with a credit card he had slipped in the case Monday at about 7 p.m., sources said.

The victim turned around to see his phone was gone and canceled the credit card, but not before it was used to buy a $6 meal at a McDonald’s in The Bronx, sources added.

The victim used the FindMyiPhone app and tracked his device to Bainbridge Avenue in The Bronx. The victim got in touch with a man who said his name was “Jay” and offered to sell the phone back to the victim, sources said.

Jay offered to meet the victim, but the phone was turned off and he didn’t show, sources added.

The victim captured two phone numbers associated with the suspect, one on caller ID and the other one after the victim provided it, sources said.

No arrests have been made.

Port Authority police caught up with the alleged attacker at the scene and arrested him on charges of attempted robbery and assault.

The victim was taken to Roosevelt Hospital, where he treated for injuries to his face and elbow, officials said.

■ A teen trying to get to school on a city bus was threatened by another teen passenger who claimed to have a gun, threatened to bring the weapon to school and promised to open fire on the bus in Parkchester, authorities said.

The 14-year-old was on the BX39 on March 25 at about 8:30 a.m. when Ken Bell, 16, boarded on White Plains Road, sat beside him, and announced, “I have a gun. Let’s go to Truman High School. Do you want to see my gun?” according to a court complaint.

Bell then demanded the younger kid’s iPhone, password and headphones, while threatening, “If you don’t give me the phone, I’m going to start shooting the bus.

“I’m going to keep this and you’re getting off at the next stop or else I’m going to shoot you. I’m going to need your headphones, too,” court papers state.

Bell snatched the iPhone5 and headphones, but was arrested, police said.

He was charged with robbery, grand larceny, petit larceny, possession of stolen property, menacing and harassment.
