Hondo: Rays the roof

Hondo, bouncing back beautifully from his Opening Night disaster with the Dodgers, scored Monday with Buck’s Birds, who hosed the Bosawx to bring the number back down to zero.

Tuesday night: Mr. Aitch will play the Ray over the Jay — 10 units on Cobb to provide a kernel of comfort.


Mayor de Blasio, facing intense booing, bared down and threw a terrific first pitch Monday at Citi Field. Maybe by next year, with a little more work, the tall righthander can put on his big boy pants and throw from on top of the mound, instead of in front of it … Speaking of mayors, sources say Toronto’s Rob Ford loves to soak up the sights and sounds of Opening Day — the crack of the bat, the crack in the pipe, the smell of the grass, as it burns in the bong, and when the fans sing: “Take me out to the ballgame, take me out with the crowd, buy me some peanuts and crack, Jack, I don’t care if I fall on my back …”
