Teaching assistant busted for alleged sex trysts with teen

A Queens teaching assistant was arrested for carrying on a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student after the boy outed the trysts to a school speech therapist, a police source said.

Clara Somodi, 39, who has worked at the Walter Reed School in Ridgewood for ten years, allegedly met with the teen inside of her third floor apartment in Jackson Heights several times.

Somodi was nabbed around 11 p.m. Wednesday by the NYPD’s special victims unit.

The relationship came to light when a speech therapist asked the boy why he missed school the day before, and he said he was with his girlfriend.

The therapist went straight to the principal when the child told her that Somodi was his “girlfriend” — the principal then notified the police.

The victim told investigators that he and Somodi had sex more than 10 times.

The most recent incident allegedly took place inside at the child’s Queens home on March 18.

The boy skipped school that day and Somodi came by while his parents weren’t home, the sources said.

Somodi denies ever having a sexual relationship with the victim, the sources said.

She has been charged with rape, criminal sex act with a victim who is less than 15 and endangering the welfare of a child, cops said.

Police said the sexual relationship with consensual.

Somodi was immediately suspended without pay from her $35,000 a year job, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Education.
