Prom ‘killer’ told police: ‘I did it. Just arrest me.’

Covered in blood, Connecticut teen killer Chris Plaskon calmly admitted to police, “I did it. Just arrest me,” after fatally stabbing a classmate who turned down his invitation to the prom, according to a police report.

Milford Police Officer James Kiely said Plaskon made the confession to him after the cop was dispatched to Jonathan Law HS around 7 a.m. for an “altercation,” said the report, which was released Tuesday.

Kiely, who is regularly assigned to cover the school, said he was told first to head to the principal’s office. There, he found Plaskon covered head-to-toe in Sanchez’s blood.

He said the teen confessed he “did it” — and then the officer received a call to go to a school stairwell.

Kiely said he cuffed Plaskon before rushing to the stairwell, where he found Sanchez barely alive, lying in a pool of her own blood.

One witness described seeing Plaskon straddling Sanchez as he cut her throat and stabbed her repeatedly in the chest before trying unsuccessfully to pull him away from the victim, according to the report.

Another witness said Plaskon discarded the murder weapon on a hallway floor after finally being wrestled away from the girl.

Paramedics showed up and tried in vain to save the girl’s life before rushing her to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Plaskon was charged with murder and was not present at his arraignment at a New Haven juvenile court Monday, according to the boy’s lawyer.

But, as expected, prosecutors decided to bump his case up to adult court, and he was presented Tuesday morning with the upgraded charges at the psychiatric facility where he is undergoing evaluation.

Bond was set at $3 million.

Plaskon will officially be arraigned as an adult in Milford Superior Court on Friday, sources said.

Sanchez had been planning to attend her junior prom Friday night with Plaskon’s friend, Jarrod Butts, whom she had recently started dating.

Knife in hand, Plaskon had approached her in the stairwell and asked if she would be his date.

When Sanchez declined, she was shoved down a flight of steps before Plaskon butchered her with the kitchen knife.

The shocking new details of the crime surfaced the same day that the killer’s family released a statement offering their sympathies to the victim’s family, saying they are struggling to come to grips with Chris’ actions.

“Words can only fall short in conveying the depth and breadth of the raw sadness we are left with by this unimaginable tragedy,” reads the Plaskons’ statement.

“Our hearts are forever broken as we, like you, struggle to understand.”

The Plaskons said they were extending their “deepest sympathies” to Sanchez’s family, referring to Maren as a “most vibrant and exceptional young woman.

“In prayer, we ask for comfort for the Sanchez family and all of us so deeply affected by this tragedy,” the letter states. “Please know that you are now, and forever, in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers.”
