‘Resurrection’ scores big for ABC

In a debut that recalls the arrival 10 years ago of another midseason replacement, “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Resurrection” posted great numbers for its Sunday night premiere — 13.3 million viewers watched the spooky drama (and a healthy 3.6 million in the 18-to-49 demo).

It was the most watched program of the night.

The series, which stars Omar Epps and Devin Kelley, is an adaptation of the novel “The Returned” by Jason Mott and tells the story of a young boy named Jacob (Landon Gimenez) who comes back to life 30 years after he died. The world around him in Arcadia, Missouri, has aged of course and his folks are in their sixties. But Jacob recognizes them as his parents.
