Brooklyn principal allegedly gets payback on whistleblowers

A Coney Island principal who allegedly tampered with parent surveys is on the warpath against whistleblowers.

Greta Hawkins has banned teachers from going behind the office counter at Brooklyn’s PS 90, insiders say. The mandate follows a Post report last Sunday that two staffers saw an aide altering or bubbling in responses on parent questionnaires. The aide told the staffers she was told to do so by Hawkins, they said.

The office of Special Schools Investigator Richard Condon received a complaint about the alleged tampering but “referred it out,” a spokeswoman said, refusing to elaborate.

Hawkins summoned at least one suspected whistleblower to a disciplinary meeting, a staffer said.

Last Monday, a day after the scandal broke, Hawkins announced on loudspeakers, “I had a great weekend. I read all weekend. It was wonderful,” according to staffers.
