Something truly amazing happened in the Ukrainian Premier League on Sunday.
Dynamo Kiev midfielder Oleh Husev was knocked unconscious when he collided with the Dnipro goalkeeper’s knee. But not only was he out cold, his tongue seemed to have blocked his airway.
By stroke of luck or fate, Dnipro’s Jaba Kankava was nearby and knew exactly what to do. Gusev stood up after a few minutes and was carried off on stretcher.Â
“He sustained medium concussion, several bruises and a bruised jaw,” the Dynamo team doctor Leonid Myronov said, according to The Guardian.
“He is lucky to have such light injuries. His spine, skull and bones are all intact – no breaks or fractures.”
