Call it More on Margulies

Critics aren’t the only ones who’ve singled out CBS’ “The Good Wife” this season for undergoing a renaissance of sorts with its sharp plotlines. It might be no surprise, but series star Julianna Margulies, who plays Alicia Florrick, agrees.

“What I love about the flashbacks with Will . . . is that you get to see her true happiness in a moment where she’s not thinking about anyone but herself,” she says of Alicia in the April issue of More magazine. “And that’s not a normal day for Alicia.”

Margulies also tells More (the April issue is out March 25) that she enjoys working with the show’s many high-profile guest stars, including Michael J. Fox, Nathan Lane and F. Murray Abraham. “I’m like, ‘Really, I get to play with you today?’ ” she says.

More Eye Network: CBS News correspondent Alexis Christoforous emcees The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) New York Gala April 3 at Cipriani 42nd Street. Danny Aiello and Tony Lo Bianco are expected to attend.

And even more CBS: Open auditions for Season 16 of “Big Brother” will be held Sunday, March 30, at Lucky Strike (West 42nd) from noon to 2 p.m.

Last, but not least . . .

“George to the Rescue” (George Oliphant) returns for a fifth season Saturday (10 a.m.) on Ch. 4 . . . Chance Kelly has raised $150,000 through Kickstarter, making it possible for him to greenlight production on his new movie, “Inside Fighter,” starring Ed Burns . . . Showtime has upped Emily Bergl (Sammi) to a series regular on “Shameless.”
