Sean Connery urges Scots to vote for independence

LONDON — Sean Connery is urging fellow Scots to vote for independence when a referendum is held in September.

The film star says in The Sun on Sunday newspaper that separating from Britain would galvanize the film and creative industries, creating jobs in Scotland. He said it would bring focus on Scottish culture, heritage and creativity.

His view is not shared by rock star David Bowie, who has urged Scots to remain part of the United Kingdom.
