Bronx man turns self in to cops with jar of cynaide

A Bronx man walked into a police precinct with a jar of cyanide and later told cops he had more deadly toxins stashed at his apartment, sources said.

Jonathan Norling, 27, strolled into the 49th Precinct Station House in Morris Park Friday and told police that he was carrying the deadly toxin, according to law enforcement sources.

After cops tested the substance and determined he was telling the truth, Norling was charged with possession noxious substance and placed under psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital, sources said.

When cops questioned him Wednesday, he told them he also had the deadly biotoxin Abrin at his apartment.

Cops stormed the man’s building on Cruger Avenue Wednesday, and were still searching the place early Thursday. It was not clear what may have been found.

A neighbor said Norling’s wife though he had been framed.

“His wife came crying to me,” said Yvonne Hopkins. “He got a text message threatening his life. Somebody placed the substance near their door.”

Exposure to just a small amount of Abrin can be fatal. There is no antidote.
