Ryan Phillippe is nearing a deal to star in the upcoming ABC drama “Secrets & Lies.”
According to reports, the 39-year-old actor would play a family man who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy after finding the body and who must then try to find the real killer as his marriage, his kids, his reputation and his sanity are all at stake.
“Secrets & Lies” is an adaptation of the upcoming Australian series starring Martin Henderson in the lead role. ABC has ordered 10 episodes of the series.
Phillippe previously appeared in the fifth season of “Damages” on DirecTV and is known for films like “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Cruel Intentions,” “Flags of Our Fathers” and “The Lincoln Lawyer.”
