Charter school expansions to be subject of city public hearings

More co-location expansions — including those of charters inside traditional public schools — will be the subject of public hearings, the city announced Saturday.

In jeopardy of seeing their expansion plans mothballed are Harlem Prep Charter School; Renaissance Charter High School for Innovation; Success Academy Harlem 3; DREAM Charter School; and the New York Center for Autism Charter School, all of Manhattan.

The DOE press release notes that “significant changes in school utilization” will be considered at the May 6 Panel for Educational Policy meeting at Murry Bergtraum HS.
