Another ‘Rush’ car-driving stunt double dies in car accident

An Italian race-car driver who served as a stunt double on the 2013 Ron Howard film “Rush” was killed last week when his vehicle plunged into a canal, according to reports.

Mauro Pane, 50, became the second driver who worked on the film to be killed in the past four months. British driver Sean Edwards died when the Porsche he was riding in hit a wall and exploded in flames in Australia.

Pane, who was a stand-in for actor Daniel Bruhl in the film about the 1976 rivalry between Formula One racers James Hunt and Niki Lauda, was reported missing last weekend.
