Jets happy to share facility with Broncos, but no peeking

John Idzik’s office has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Jets’ practice fields. This week, that’s a view he’ll avoid.

With the Broncos using the Jets’ training center to practice this week, Idzik and the rest of the Jets’ front office will stay in the interior of the building where no one can sneak a peek at what Peyton Manning and Co. are doing.

“We won’t go anywhere where there’s windows. We’ll be in the interior,” Idzik said. “We’re there anyway. We’ll be there through their practice. We won’t go anywhere within eyeshot of the Broncos, unless they ask us. We want to respect their privacy. We realize this is the culmination of their season. It’s the most important week of a lot of careers. We want to try to foster a good environment for them.”

The Broncos will use the Jets’ fields, locker room, weight room and trainer’s room this week for several hours a day.

“Denver has been great,” Idzik said. “They let us stay in the building. They were very sensitive to not disrupting what we had to get done. Likewise, this is their biggest game so we’re sensitive to their needs, too. They’ve been terrific. They really have.”
