Brooklyn

A firefighter was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman in East New York, authorities said.

Wilkins Vega, 32, allegedly attacked a female acquaintance in the street around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The woman refused medical attention, officials said.

The firefighter was off-duty when the incident occurred.


A 29-year-old off-duty sanitation worker was busted for drunken driving in Sheepshead Bay, cops said.

George Gonzalez was on Ocean Avenue making a left onto Jerome Avenue when he failed to use a turn signal Thursday at 4:30 a.m., according to police.

Cops on patrol pulled him over and Gonzalez was given a Breathalyzer test. He recorded a blood-alcohol level of .08 and charged with DWI, according to police.

He also was cited for failing to use a turning signal, cops said.


A man was robbed and pistol whipped in Bedford-Stuyvesant, authorities said.

The 33-year-old victim was walking to his front door on Monroe Street near Malcolm X Boulevard around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday when three men approached him from behind and pistol whipped him, police said.

The three men were disguised in ski masks and wore gloves when they forced him into the apartment and snatched his iPhone, credit cards and keys, cops said.

The victim was then bound hand and foot before the crooks fled.

His car was not stolen, cops said. The victim claims he did not know the trio and police said it was unclear why he was targeted.


The Bronx

The thug who shot a 9-year-old boy in the foot in East Tremont was arrested Wednesday, cops said.

Vernon Franklyn, 22, was charged with attempted murder, assault and possession of a weapon for allegedly opening fire near PS 44 on Dec. 18, striking little Michael Banner in the heel with a stray bullet, cops said.

Banner was treated and released from Jacobi Medical Center.


A burglar broke into a Riverdale home and stole jewelry, authorities said.

The suspect picked the locks to the front door of the victim’s apartment at around noon Jan. 8 before rummaging through the home, stealing watches, rings, chains and bracelets, cops said.

No one was home during the theft and no injuries were reported, cops said.


Manhattan

A silver-haired thief broke into a Greenwich Village apartment and made off with a computer and jewelry, authorities said.

The suspect forced his way through the front door at around 7 a.m. Dec. 30 before stealing two bracelets from a bedroom dresser valued at around $2,000 cops said.

The thief also snatched a laptop from the living room before leaving the apartment, cops said.


Queens

Port Authority cops busted a motorist for resisting arrest at JFK Airport, officials said.

Bakary Keita, 37, was approached by a PAPD officer for blocking traffic near the arrivals terminal as he was sitting in his black Lincoln Town Car at around 11 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

When Keita refused to move his car, the officer attempted to arrest him for disorderly conduct, the PAPD said.

The officer was injured in the ensuing struggle before Keita was finally placed under arrest.

The Bronx resident was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and traffic violations, according to PAPD spokesman Joe Pentangelo.


A man was shot after getting into a fight with two others in Astoria, authorities said.

The victim was approached by the two suspects on Steinway Street near 35th Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. Monday before getting into a verbal dispute, cops said.

During the fight, one of the attackers pulled out a gun and blasted the victim in the right leg before fleeing.

The victim was treated at Elmhurst Hospital for minor injuries, cops said.
